The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Supplier Assurance Engineer (Senior Quality Control) to join our team working in a technically demanding, fast moving, project based business. Our company designs and constructs integrated equipment products for the offshore, marine, oil & gas, renewable and defence markets.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support and advice to the sales, project management, engineering and supply chain teams regarding design for manufacture, quality requirements flow down, supplier selection, supplier capability and capacity.
- Producing project Supplier Surveillance Plans.
- Reviewing and approving supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
- Attending planned surveillance visits identified in the Supplier Surveillance Plans.
- Producing Progress Reports from the supplier surveillance visits.
- Registering and responding to supplier NOIs.
- Attending intervention points identified in the supplier ITPs.
- Where required, undertaking inspections at the appropriate ITP intervention points.
- Registering and responding to supplier NCRs, TQs and Concessions.
- Reviewing supplier Vendor Documentation Packs.
- Produce monthly metrics on status of supplier surveillance.
- Review and update the "Supplier Quality Control" process on a bi-annual basis.
- Manage and supervise any direct reports. Carry out annual staff appraisals and identify any training needs and personal development objectives.
Job requirements:
- HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience of quality control of engineering projects, with a least 2 years in a senior role, ideally with line management experience.
- Full understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of processes and procedures in a complex engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Preference for CSWIP weld inspection / PCN NDT qualifications.
- Strong Health and Safety awareness with preference for formal HSE qualifications.
- Knowledge of project management process and methodologies.
- Proficient report writing and metric generation skills backed up by strong MS Office knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organised, analytical, self-motivated and professional.
- Problem solver, able to work independently, under pressure, with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to undertake local, national and international travel as part of the job role.
