Senior Surveyor

The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint Senior Surveyor.

Position Overview:

The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing all survey activities related to the construction. This role involves establishing control points, preparing calculations, managing survey requests, overseeing as-built reporting, and ensuring equipment suitability and accuracy. The Senior Surveyor will also be accountable for equipment maintenance, adherence to contractual and quality assurance obligations, and data review.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish secondary and tertiary control points within the project’s survey control network.
• Prepare calculations for quantities and submit them, along with supporting documentation, to project management personnel.
• Manage the survey request system for the station box.
• Oversee the as-built reporting for ITP QA requirements.
• Submit survey hold points as required.
• Ensure that all surveying equipment used is suitable for the task and can attain the required accuracy.
• Test and calibrate survey equipment as required by the calibration roster.
• Care for and maintain all survey equipment in good working order; report faulty equipment to the Zone Survey Manager.
• Undertake all surveys to meet contractual and quality assurance obligations.
• Store all survey equipment in suitable, secure locations.
• Review all Setout, Prepour, and Asbuilt data before acceptance.

Essential Skills:

• Team leadership: Ability to lead and coordinate survey teams effectively.
• Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude: Demonstrates a positive and proactive approach to work.
• Proficiency in 12d and 12d Field software.
• Knowledge of Synergy software.
• Familiarity with MicroSurvey Starnet software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Relevant professional certifications.
• Previous experience in construction surveying projects.
