About the Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the development and delivery of Penten products and engineering solutions. Based in Canberra and reporting to the Head of Engineering, this position will ensure system solutions align with organisational goals and the Penten Development lifecycle to support operational efficiency, scalability and reliability. Specifically, this role will:
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to management of the Penten engineering team throughout the system lifecycle.
- Contribute to development of comprehensive system solutions incorporating hardware, software, networks and information security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and ensure system designs meet specified requirements and security needs.
- Ensure that solutions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and security protocols.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation for product lifecycle, project deliverables and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive engineering and systems lifecycle experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering processes used within Government and Defence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to design robust systems to address complex business requirements.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts and system designs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Eligibility
To be eligible for this position you must:
- Hold an Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- Be an Australian citizen with an AGSVA NV2 clearance (or eligible and willing to undergo the process)
- Be a full member of Engineers Australia (or can satisfy the requirements to become a full member)
