Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 (120,859 - $133,183 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The purpose of your role is to provide oversight of the SAP payroll production activities each fortnight in Shared Services as well as technical leadership from a business perspective in a service delivery model environment, working collaboratively with Information Digital Services (IDS) to facilitate the delivery of high quality, accurate and timely data and technical services including payroll production and ad hoc payroll reports.

What you’ll do

As part of the Shared Service and Customer Experience division, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Deliver payroll production, and data and technical services ensuring accuracy, compliance with legislation, awards, policies, procedures and audit requirements and Service Partnership Agreements.
  • Promote and ensure the use of agreed methods, tools and knowledge to drive efficiency and consistency in providing data and technical services, ad hoc reports and advice.
  • Liaise with ERP support team to maintain and develop ERP functionality to improve user experience and process efficiency, documenting business cases and requirements, confirming technical specifications, testing new functionality, patches and upgrades, diagnosing faults and recommending changes within defined change control procedures ensuring data integrity.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc statistical reports to Communities and Justice executive clients, partners, suppliers and auditors to support evidenced based decision making and provide advice on data and interpretation.
  • Support staff and clients to use the ERP system (SAP) to meet business needs through documentation of user guides and knowledge articles, presentations and 1:1 support
  • Identify, assess, manage, monitor and report on risks to management. Have regard to the organisation’s risk appetite in the way staff perform work.
  • Monitor and report on best practice benchmarks for HR operation systems.

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have strong data analysis skills such as:

  • Experience in SAP completing payroll production activities
  • Experience in SAP running payroll related reports
  • Advanced excel skills and other data analysis tools
  • Able to clearly communicate data analysis findings to address business problems.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Customer centric approach to work
  • Experience in managing ServiceNow tickets
  • Knowledge of Finance and Payroll transactional processes in ERP (SAP) systems (ideal but not essential)
  • Strong desire to take on challenges and learn
