Purpose of the role

The Finance Systems team plays a critical role in maximising the firm's investment in the Practice Management System Elite 3E and other Business Systems, by providing system solutions to support firm strategy, operations and new business requirements. The Systems Analyst role is one of a small team who are a key liaison between Finance Support and training services, Business Analysts, IT Development, Testing team and other Financial Services stakeholders.

Job description

The System Analyst provides responsive and proactive second level support investigations, including reproducing issues, analysing data and timely escalation and follow up of issues to vendors or internal technical teams. The Systems Analyst also provides operational support of key Finance processes including month end and year end and hands on support role for Client Billing platforms.

The Systems Analyst will work within the Systems Operation team with other analysts, on a variety of interesting BAU and project work.

Your responsibilities include:

• Play a key role within the Finance Systems Operations team in production support and second level investigations of issues occurring in finance systems or systems integrations
• Understand the core functions of the Practice Management System (Elite 3e) to assist in troubleshooting issues and recommending actions.
• Good working knowledge of system configuration and security management within large systems, with a focus on accuracy and tested solutions.
• Hands on administration of daily, month end and year end processes
• System monitoring checks and testing as required
• Ability to quickly transfer experience and knowledge to a new system, including developing a comprehensive understanding of billing processes .
• Assist with management and technical support of Client e-Billing platforms
• Good practical SQL skills to assist with troubleshooting
• A collaborative working style with team members and relevant stakeholders; effective prioritisation and escalation of issues.
• Create and maintain second level support documentation
• Ability to work in a structured way, utilising standard ITIL issue and change management processes

• 3 - 5 years functional system experience within a complex environment, with strong working knowledge of related commercial environment.
• Experience with using/supporting Practice Management or other large Finance systems and related integrations ( Elite 3e or Aderant Expert experience highly regarded)
• Experience providing second level support and systems administration
• Proven SQL, troubleshooting and problem analysis skills
• Operates in a professional and ethical manner
• Be outcomes focussed, and highly motivated to deliver excellent client service
• Displays initiative in bringing potential problems and issues to manager's attention and making recommendations for resolution
• Shares knowledge and enjoys working as a team player
• High level understanding of business drivers within a professional services environment

• Familiarity with operations of a Finance team - highly regarded
• Systems administration experience with Elite 3e or Aderant, or SAP FI
• Has worked in a law firm or other professional services environment
