Senior Systems Engineer – Autonomy

Our client, a major mining operator, is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their Perth based team.
 
As a key stakeholder in autonomy product development, the Systems Engineer plays a vital role in designing, testing, and deploying robust and efficient systems. Leveraging expertise in Systems Engineering, automation, and control systems, this position involves mentoring team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring seamless technology integration.
 
Reporting to the Systems Architect, you will be a key stakeholder in the development and implementation of autonomy projects.
 
The successful candidate will utilise their experience in Systems Engineering principles and control systems to design, test and deploy efficiently operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and methodologies.
• Understanding of control theory, functional safety, safety in design and security in design.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time systems, and communication protocols
• Develop and mentor junior engineers
• Deliver system design interfaces, specifications, and procedures, in agreed format.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Domain squad, product development, and other stakeholders.

• Degree qualified engineer
• Proficient in Systems Engineering principles and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of control theory, functional safety, safety in design, and security in design.
• Experienced in developing N2 charts for comprehensive system interaction mapping.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time systems, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Ethernet).
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in related Systems Engineering roles.
