A Senior Manager in RSM Melbourne's tax division has a broad range of client and people management responsibilities. This is a technically challenging role with a diverse client portfolio to deliver corporate tax advice and support juniors to deliver work. The role will also have responsibility for developing the team and attracting new clients to the division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identifying and solving issues with Tax implications for clients;
- Research and analysis of case law and legislation;
- Coach staff on dealing with complex technical and risk areas;
- Review of income tax returns and provisions;
- Management of junior staff members;
- Mentor and development of junior staff member;
- Client management;
- Drafts management letters in conjunction with the Partner providing commercial and practical advice;
- Understands relevant independence rules and their applicability to the division and Firm;
- Identifies areas of high risk to the Firm;
- Technical leader through training staff, conducting client and staff presentations and developing new products and services for clients; and
- Performs technical reviews of taxation consulting work.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Business / Commerce / Finance degree with Accounting Major
- Completed CA or equivalent
Desirable
- Business / Commerce / Finance/ Law double degree with Accounting Major
- Master of Taxation
DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
Essential
- 8+ years’ experience in Professional Services
- 3 – 4 years managing a team
- Business development experience
- Previous experience managing a team
- Excellent client and project management skills
- Strong communication Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
