- Review complex tax returns, financial statements, and other tax-related documents for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations.
- Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies, tax compliance, and risk management to clients across various industries.
- Stay up-to-date on current and proposed changes in Australian tax legislation, regulations, and case law to ensure accurate and timely advice to clients.
- Manage and mentor the overseas tax accounting team, ensuring their professional growth and adherence to the firm's quality standards.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations and financial objectives to provide tailored tax solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit, consulting, and advisory, to deliver comprehensive financial services to clients.
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and improve overall efficiency within the tax department.
- Represent clients in tax audits and disputes with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Contribute to the firm's thought leadership through participation in industry events, presentations, and publications.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in public accounting, with a focus on Australian taxation.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, regulations, and case law.
- Exceptional clear, concise, communication skills
- Proven track record leading and guiding an overseas tax accounting team.
