About the role
The Senior Key Worker (Case Manager) plays a crucial role in delivering intensive case management services for specific TCP clients. This pivotal position focuses on achieving positive outcomes for clients, aligning with case plan directions and cultural support plans for the children and young people under TCP support.
Operating with a concentrated complex caseload, the Senior Key Worker directly collaborates with the child, their family, carers, and other stakeholders to facilitate changes supporting the child's case plan and desired outcomes. Typically contracted by DFFH, VACCA entrusts Key Workers to meet all DFFH and VACCA case management and reporting requirements.
About You
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose
- Growing knowledge and/or lived experience with an understanding of Child Protection and out of home care system.
- Knowledge of the issues faced by children and young people in care/ leaving care.
- Demonstrated expertise in child development, attachment, and trauma, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively when working with Aboriginal children, families, and carers.
- Excellent time management skills, communication skills, reliability, accountability, and commitment to high quality client service.
- Develop contingency plans for placement breakdowns and plan for transitions to alternate living arrangements such as lead tenancy, independent living, or other options.
- Availability to work flexible hours will be an advantage.
- Minimum Qualifications: Diploma of Community Services or equivalent
- Requirement: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Drivers Licence.
