The Opportunity
The Housing and Assets Division is responsible for leading the land, housing and built-form construction activities of the agency, maintaining and delivering the dwellings and assets required to enable the Department of Communities to deliver services. While delivering affordable and diverse land and built-form housing to support the efficient functioning of the Western Australian housing market.
As a Senior Technical Advisor Electrical you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical maintenance is performed by suitably licensed and qualified tradesmen. Ensuring that compliance with all Standards, Regulations Supplier and Manufacturers Specifications and By-Laws to ensure property inspections and quality assurance processes are adhered to.
You will have the ability to identify any anomalies or discrepancies in relation to the prescribed maintenance record and consult with the Contract Managers. An essential requirement to the role is the ability to produce high level documentation to identify all details with regard to compliance related issues. Specifically, there is a high requirement to address safety electrical audits for Residual Current Devices (RCD’s) and Smoke Alarms.
A Senior Technical Advisor Electrical will also:
- Liase and provide regional offices and Housing Direct with technical advice and support on complex maintenance issues,
- Provide technical advice, supervision and training on technical issues and work to ensure compliance is maintained,
- Coordinate and manage anomalies in adhoc licensed works.
- Complete compliance and assurance duties for auditing and QA assessments,
- Produce high level documentation to identify all details with regard to compliance related issues.
