SalaryAs a Senior Technical Specialist, you will be based in Clayton, VIC, and report to the Technical Manager. You will lead and coordinate the technical discussions and relationship with the key account BlueScope throughout ANZ and support the discussions with PPG and BlueScope globally and with other customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical discussions and communication for BlueScope ANZ with support from the Product and Customer Development technical functions.
- Provide support and lead the technical discussions and communication for PPG globally with BlueScope, with support from the local Product and Customer Development technical functions.
- Manage and coordinate internal agreements on technology supplied to BlueScope in collaboration with our Global Key Account Manager and Product Management team.
- Lead projects, including regular reviews of key formulating practices with key customers, establishment and maintenance of formulating practices, and assisting with customer technology/process direction setting in collaboration with the commercial and customer service teams.
- Implement Raw Material qualifications for the products supplied to BlueScope globally to meet the needs of the businesses for FCR and supply security.
- In collaboration with the Technical Customer Support group, provide provision of technical support to major customers for key products by coordinating resources during the launch of new technology.
- Support PPG Operations by supplying process design and composition information for new development products/processes at an appropriate stage to allow planning for a smooth introduction.
- Ensure all technology supplied to the customer meets statutory and PPG SH&E requirements and that all work group activities are conducted safely.
- Chemical expert knowledge, including polymers, curing mechanisms, coating performance, adhesion, and corrosion.
- Process expert knowledge, including existing and potential new application and curing processes.
- Knowledge of Industrial coating technology formulation.
- Ability to improve and identify novel approaches to meet new “leading edge” customer requirements.
- Project planning.
- Ability to develop PPG/Customer technical synergy through key relationships with major customers.
- Understanding of the Customer and Industrial Market and Customer base.
- Understanding of the technical strategy of the Industrial business unit.
