Senior Telecommunication Engineer

We're looking for a Telecommunications Engineer to join our Future Energy Group.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Planning, designing and documenting communication design works for renewables, generation and network projects
• Developing philosophy, specification and scope of work documents related to communications design
• In conjunction with the drafting team, creating drawing packages for communications system design
• Managing communication design projects and interface with clients
• Produce concept designs for communications and substation scada/automation systems
• Contributing to and preparing engineering design reports and calculations
• Providing technical support to project managers and clients, addressing technical inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring project objectives are met.
• Acting as owners engineer, reviewing and supervising electrical and telecommunications contractors
• Providing advice and supporting for telecommunications and control system activities at various locations
• Adhering to strict OHS, change management and implementation procedures
• Collaborating with project teams to design and engineer communications design for power transmission systems

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/ electronic/ communications Engineering or related field
• 5-10 years' experience in similar role, preferably in a consulting services or power utility environment.
• Experience managing the client interface, expectations and requirements with a view to build a lasting business relationships
• Problem solving skills with a diligent and methodical approach and good attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate concisely
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed engineering decisions
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of communications systems and their implementation in the power industry
• Sound understanding of industry codes and standards related to power eg ACMA standards
• Experience with design in radio, microwave, fibre, SDH/PDH, MPLS, DWDM, LAN and WAN networks
• Experience with transmission system scada and substation automation is highly advantageous
