As a Senior TelecommunicationsSystems Designer, you'll provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Telecommunications Systems Design team members. You will also undertake the lead telecommunications design role on allocated projects - mainly in the areas of multiplexing, fibre optic and voice systems, and to a lesser extent in protection signalling, microwave, mobile radio and power line carrier.
You will assist in the production of technical specifications and tender analysis for the purchase of telecommunications equipment to meet all operational requirements, as well as the production of documentation appropriate for the installation, configuration and testing of telecommunications systems.
Part of this role will also see you investigate, analyse and recommend business and technical solutions to contribute to managing challenges identified in the substation environment.

Your expertise
- You will have an Associate Diploma in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering, coupled with significant experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed, repeatable and consistent designs in accordance with business needs, stakeholder requirements and defined design standards and technology solutions.
- Expert knowledge, experience and understanding of at least two of the following telecommunications technologies:
1. Telecommunications Systems Network design
2. Multiplexing (PDH, SDH)
3. Digital Microwave Radio
4. Fibre optics
5. DWDM/OTN
6. Voice systems (VoIP)
We'd also love you to have: - Exposure to telecommunications within the power industry.
- Exposure and an understanding of networking technologies, specifically the design and implementation of MPLS-TP and IP networks.
