About the role
As the Head Chef – Retirement Living, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a small team, providing catering services for events and managing the kitchens at two Retirement Living communities located in Hawthorn and Camberwell. You will devise creative menus, order stock/produce and work collaboratively with staff across the two sites to efficiently prep meals that are appetising and within budget. Due to the relatively small numbers you’ll be catering for at any given meal service, you will be required to support in all areas including serving meals to residents.
About you
You have Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher and experience with leading and mentoring a small in a catering/kitchen environment.
Your communication and interpersonal skills are exceptional, allowing you to quickly build rapport with a variety of stakeholders.
You take pride in the work you do, have a keen eye for detail, and display initiative and common sense when making decisions or working through issues.
Highly organised and proactive, you thrive under pressure and can manage your time effectively to meet competing demands.
You are self-motivated and resilient with the ability to maintain a positive attitude no matter what comes your way.
