Job DescriptionThe individual performing this role completes end to end testing of client technologies ensuring stability, availability and reliability of technology through the thorough planning and execution of testing activities. This role should ensure testing activities follow the appropriate testing methodology and should contribute to ongoing development and improvement of business performance. Additionally, this role involves contributes to the planning, execution maintenance of automation projects for small and medium programs. The individual executes and documents manual and automated testing according to test plans. They analyse and report on test activities, results, issues, and risks.
This position operates under close supervision, and autonomy will increase with the individual's growing skill level.
Qualifications- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies:
- Can explain what System, Integration and Acceptance Testing is
- Is able to explain the difference between black box and white box testing
- Explain what Accessibility testing is
- Explain what automation is
- Describe exploratory testing
- Explain what Regression Testing is
- Understand the possible inputs (documents and other) to test analysis
- Is able to explain the difference between customer service and customer experience
- Understand design patterns and clean coding concepts
- Knowledge of OOP languages such as C# / Python / Java
- Knowledge of networking concepts, database concepts, web technologies and other technological concepts
- Appreciation and knowledge of ITIL and other service management methodology
- Someone who understands insurance systems and process, preferably GIS / PMS / Smartcomms & JIRA & XRAY.
- Able to be a hands on team player and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Able to understand system -Upstream , downstream / Policy Lifecycle – Help in triage and understanding scope.
- Experience in a fast paced environment - Able to quickly adapt to change and moving targets and work with the team when there are grey areas.
- Can clearly articulate what the blockers are and what help is required and escalate.
EXPERIENCE
- As a guide it is expected that the person performing this role has 5-7 years’ experience in manual testing and up to 3years’ experience in automation Testing
- Experience using test management tools
- Experience using defect tracking tools
- Experience conducting testing on a range of systems and technologies
- Experience working on large testing projects and multi-vendor environments
- Customer service experience is desirable
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript/Typescript
- Experience in coding, amending, and refactoring small-to-medium programs (Under close direction)
- Exposure in using version control software (e.g. GitHub)
- Exposed to RPA and/or Automated tools like Selenium, Postman, Cypress, TOSCA, Power Automate etc.
- Experience on Insurance domain is mandatory.
