What you'll do:As the Senior Test Engineer, you will have a crucial role in managing the software engineering team and overseeing processes, design, and resource allocations. You will work closely with Solution Architects and Systems Engineering teams to align with product and project goals. Your responsibilities will include leading, coaching, and motivating project team members while supporting their career development. You will also act as a mediator between stakeholders, team members, and clients. Your contributions will be instrumental in driving continuous process improvements and enhancing business efficiency.Your primary focus will be establishing and implementing automation capabilities within the organisation. You will manage the software engineering team, ensuring effective processes, design, and resource allocations for product and project developments. You will be responsible for maintaining consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals in software engineering processes. Collaboration with Solution Architects and Systems Engineering will be essential in achieving product and project objectives. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will establish improvement goals and budgets for software engineering each financial year. You will aim to develop a scalable software engineering capability that can accommodate a growing number and variety of projects.In addition, you will oversee staff members to meet project deadlines and provide leadership, coaching, and motivation to the project team on a proactive basis. You will also manage the career development of systems engineers and create succession plans for key software engineering personnel. Acting as a mediator, you will facilitate effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders, team members, and clients. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives and drive increased business efficiency.What you bring:Your qualifications for the Senior Test Engineer position should include exceptional leadership skills and advanced expertise in software design, architecture, and implementation. Strong conceptual thinking abilities and technical prowess are essential. Demonstrated experience in end-to-end software engineering for complex systems, along with effective team management skills, is highly valued. Furthermore, a deep understanding of software development, deployment, and maintenance processes is crucial to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.In addition, having a strong background and hands-on experience in automation, specifically in establishing automation testing frameworks in a commercial setting, preferably at a large scale, will set you apart. Australian citizenship is required, as the company will sponsor NV1 clearance as needed. Familiarity with either C++ or C#/.NET Core would be advantageous.To stand out further, it is beneficial to have experience in the telecommunications, security, or government sectors. Proficiency in automation tools like Selenium and TOSCA is desired. The company relies on OpenShift as a CI/CD tool and operates its software on Linux Red Hat 9.
