Senior Threat Defense Engineer

Due to our continued success and growth, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Threat Defense Engineer to join the team and fortify our commitment towards digital resilience. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Threat Defense systems, ensuring the highest level of security for our business and protecting sensitive data of our cloud infrastructure, including Azure and AWS.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Detection Engineering

• Design, implement, and optimize detection mechanisms to identify and respond to sophisticated cyber threats
• Develop and maintain custom detection rules, signatures, and algorithms to enhance our security posture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate detection mechanisms into security infrastructure.

Threat Hunting

• Conduct proactive threat hunting exercises to identify and mitigate potential security risks
• Analyze security event data for anomalies and patterns indicative of malicious activity
• Stay abreast of the latest threat intelligence to inform and enhance threat hunting activities.

Automation

• Develop and maintain automated workflows to improve incident response times and reduce manual intervention.
• Leverage Python and other scripting languages to automate routine security tasks and processes.
• Collaborate with SOC and incident response teams to integrate automation into daily security operations.

 Cloud Security

• Apply expertise in cloud security to ensure the protection of assets hosted on Azure and AWS.
• Collaborate with cloud architecture teams to implement and enforce security best practices.
• Monitor and respond to security events within cloud environments.

 Incident Response

• Provide support during security incidents, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to improve incident detection and response capabilities.

ABOUT YOU

• 8+ years experience in the design and implementation of Security products.
• 3+ years of experience in the design and implementation of automations.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or any related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH or equivalent are a bonus.
• Proven experience in Threat Detection, Incident Response and Threat Hunting.
• Strong Programming skills with a focus on Python for automation.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure and AWS.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR and other relevant security technologies.
• Excellent understanding of Cyber threats, Attack Vectors and Risk Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams.
