About Us:
The local council is committed to enhancing the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our transport infrastructure. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our city’s mobility and ensuring the well-being of residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sound and specialist engineering advice in relation to the range of community issues relating to Traffic Engineering, road safety and parking.
- Project planning, prioritisation, and investigative work, including the accurate scoping and costing works, consulting with a range of stakeholders to gain consensus on project scope and design for inclusion of works in the Long-Term Infrastructure Plan.
- Undertake survey, design, drafting and cost estimates for the assigned projects, including preparation of written reports on the progress of the project.
- Manage and deliver assigned minor infrastructure projects from initiation to project handover.
- Preparation of funding applications for a range of infrastructure works, strategies, studies, and analysis.
- Develop, monitor and review the infrastructure work priorities related to DDA compliance, traffic and road safety and develop project proposal reports for consideration of works as part of Long Term Infrastructure Plan.
- Oversee the ongoing program for collection of traffic data and VMS trailers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification is recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia and registration in accordance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019 is preferred or an ability to become registered.
- Experience in Local Government engineering is desirable.
- A current Victorian Driving Licence.
