CYP Design & Construction Joint Venture (CYP D&C) has been contracted to design and build the tunnels and stations for the Metro Tunnel Project.
CYP D&C brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners John Holland, Lendlease, and Bouygues Construction.
The Metro Tunnel Project will untangle the City Loop by taking three of Melbourne's busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city. It will create a new end-to-end train line from Sunbury to Cranbourne/Pakenham, with twin nine-kilometre tunnels and five new underground stations at Arden (to be renamed North Melbourne), Parkville, Anzac, and two new CBD stations - State Library and Town Hall - which will directly connect to the City Loop.
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team, to oversee traffic management requirements across the various precincts on the Project. You'll be involved in design and implementation of Traffic Management Plans, to provide suitable and safe areas for project works to occur in accordance with relevant Standards and Regulations.
Other responsibilities include:
- Develop documentation in accordance with contractual requirements relating to Transport and Traffic
- Design Traffic Management Plans that comply with relevant Standards, Rules, Acts and Regulations, that address Stakeholder concerns (external or internal), and apply appropriate controls to address specific risks
- Manage production of Traffic Guidance Schemes with an appropriate Drafting resource
- Ensure Traffic Management is compliant and safe, including undertaking Risk Assessments
- Ensure performance is tracked and monitored against relevant KPI's/KRA's
- Review and provide feedback on drawings
- Manage the Traffic Management Plan submission and approval process within strict timeframes
- Manage all preparation/procurement for Traffic Management Plan implementation
- Manage costs within an allocated budget
- Attend site as required during Implementations (day or night as required)
- Undertake periodic site walks to ensure Traffic Management compliance
- Manage the procurement of Road Safety Audits at the required stages of TMP development
- Provide updates / inputs to reports and meetings
- Undertake monitoring of arrangements as required
- Assist the Traffic Manager in the execution of their duties, including maintaining adequate records
- Proactively engage Stakeholders (internal or external) to maintain positive and productive relationships
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you demonstrate the following;
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 2 years' Traffic Engineering or Traffic Management experience, including preparation of TMPs
- Working knowledge of AS 1742.3 and WSTM Code of Practice
- Experience in Major Project construction highly favourable
- Strong stakeholder management background
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of safety-based requirements
- Familiarity with the road safety audit process
- Knowledge of AGTTM and AGRD highly considered
