About the opportunity
The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east.
Laing O’Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Training & Compliance Advisor to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing the Compliance Training and Mobilisation team, ensuring effective strategies and initiatives are developed and implemented to meet project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Training and Mobilisation team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective strategies and initiatives.
- Manage the training budget and ensure alignment with reimbursable costs
- Ownership of all Training, Mobilisation, and Compliance Systems and processes including Damstra and Damstra Learning.
- Conduct regular audits of the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify staff and workforce needs, ensuring compliance and update of the EBTA TNA.
About you
- Relevant HR / Safety or Business tertiary qualifications.
- Significant experience in a similar role ideally within a construction, engineering or services sector.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- You will enjoy working as part of a team with a positive approach to problem solving.
- The ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans.
- Building collaborative relationships at all levels and the ability to influence is key to this role.
- Strong facilitation and program management experience.
