The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our Accident and Health team in Melbourne. As a Senior Accident & Health Underwriter you will be part of a dynamic team spread across Australia, responsible for relationship management, underwriting and managing a portfolio of accident and health products specifically tailored for the construction industry.
Your new role
- Manage key accounts to improve engagement and service levels.
- Underwrite insurance risks across the A&H product, adhering to underwriting guidelines and standards .
- Manage referrals, renewal management and the processing of endorsements and amendments as requested .
- Ensure that tasks are managed in accordance with service level agreements .
- Work effectively within the underwriting team to convert quality business and achieve profitable growth .
- Underwrite new business and renewals through successful portfolio management .
- Work collaboratively and intuitively to achieve business goals and desired service outcomes with internal and external stakeholders .
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong customer facing experience, with the confidence to build and grow broker relationships .
- Previous experience underwriting in Accident & Health, workers compensation or life insurance (desirable)
- Advanced understanding and utilisation of underwriting tools, resources, processes, and guidelines.
- Ability to review reports and data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving portfolio performance.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, problem-solving and process improvement experience .
