Wanted: Licensed Valuers for our Urban Rating & Taxing and Specialist Values Teams! 

About the role  

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced senior licensed Valuer? Are you a team player who enjoys and is ready for a new challenge?  We would love to hear from you. We currently have opportunities available across Urban Rating and Taxing and Specialist Values Teams.   

You will provide high level expert consulting services and advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding property valuations as well as undertake complex valuations and provide mentoring across all valuation types particularly relating to commercial or unique properties. An important part of this position will be to provide leadership that encourages continuous learning, work collaboratively at all levels of the business, provide support where required and contribute to the strategic direction of Valuation Services.

 Role Requirements 

To be successful in the Senior Valuer - Urban and Specialist role, please demonstrate: 

  • Possession of a degree as prescribed by Regulation 8(1) of the Land Valuers Licensing Regulations 1979 or an equivalent degree as approved by the Executive Director of Labour Relations; and a license in accordance with Section 19 of the Land Valuers Licensing Act 1978. 
  • Significant professional valuation experience, including substantial experience in undertaking contentious and complex valuations particularly on difficult urban or specialist properties whilst demonstrating broad knowledge of valuation principles and practices as well as knowledge of the valuation requirement of the Valuation of Land Act 1978. 
  • Proven ability to be an effective lead by mentoring, advising, and guiding team members. This includes the ability to effectively influence, inspire and motivate others to make a difference and achieve outcomes. 
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including well-developed presentation and writing skills.
  • Proven ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders including stakeholder engagement. 
  • Ability to ensures agreed outcomes are achieved and demonstration of a strong track record in achieving deliverables and activities within deadlines. 

 To be successful in the Senior Valuer - Native Title & Renewable Energy role, please demonstrate: 

  • Possession of a degree as prescribed by Regulation 8(1) of the Land Valuers Licensing Regulations 1979 or an equivalent degree as approved by the Executive Director of Labour Relations; and a license in accordance with Section 19 of the Land Valuers Licensing Act 1978. 
  • Extensive understanding of valuation principles and practices relevant to Market Valuations, and the capacity to apply these to property valuation with substantial experience in make complex valuations to most classes of property.   
  • Experience in regional valuations and experience in the valuing of commercial, strategic industrial, renewable energy projects and land that may be the subject of native title. 
  • Proven ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders including stakeholder engagement. 
  • Ability to ensures agreed outcomes are achieved and demonstration of a strong track record in achieving deliverables and activities within deadlines. 
  • Ability to research, analyse and evaluate information to support the delivery of high-quality valuation outcomes.
