Job description
Responsibilities:- Project Leadership: Lead the design and execution of water infrastructure projects, including but not limited to water treatment plants, distribution systems, wastewater treatment facilities, stormwater management, and drainage systems.
- Technical Expertise: Apply your in-depth knowledge of water engineering principles and practices to develop innovative design solutions that meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project goals, and translate these into actionable design concepts and plans.
- Team Management: Mentor and guide junior designers and engineers, providing technical expertise, feedback, and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of design deliverables, conducting thorough reviews and evaluations to identify and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing water-related projects, ensuring that designs comply with all applicable requirements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, environmental consultants, and project managers, to integrate water design solutions seamlessly into larger projects.
- Business Development: Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposal preparation, and presentations, and identifying opportunities for new projects and partnerships.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in water engineering and design, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 8-10+ years of experience in water engineering and design, with a proven track record of leading successful projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in relevant design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, EPANET, and/or StormCAD.
- Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, pump station design, and pipeline design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and green infrastructure practices is a plus.
- Based in Adelaide.
