Job Description- Work under the direction of the OPG website project manager to draft, review and finalise Website Content using OPG's content brief template.
- Write and structure clear, easy to understand and easy to navigate web content, informed by existing OPG materials, OPG Project Manager and internal OPG subject matter experts.
- Ensure consistency in writing style, tone, images and website features (e.g. accordions, pull out poxes etc) across all the webpages that are developed.
- Refine/tweak the information architecture as the Website Content is developed (as needed to support Website Content).
- Ensure Queensland Government online policies and standards are met and adhered to in terms of Website Content and architecture (i.e. Queensland Government Web Writing and Style Guide)
- Write well-informed and keyword-driven content to foster organic traffic.
- Create optimised tags and meta descriptions to increase click-through rates.
The Successful Applicant- Developing clear, concise, logical easy-to-read and easy-to-understand Website Content
- Understanding the best way to present and organise information online.
- Drafting Website Content for various target audiences within the one website.
- Drafting Website Content in accordance with the Queensland Government's web writing style guide and website standards.
- Ensuring consistency in writing style, tone, images and website features across all webpages
- Drafting Website Content using OPG's content brief template.
- Working autonomously under the direction of the website project manager.
- Excellent time management, organisation skills and attention to detail.
- An understanding of best practice website information architecture.
- Ability to productively engage with internal subject matter experts in relation to the development of Website Content relevant to their area of expertise.
- Being a team player and someone with a genuine interest in developing Website Content, especially for websites supporting the provision of information to vulnerable members of the community.
- Capabilities in Plain English or Easy English writing.
- Understanding of Squiz Matrix or similar web content management systems.
