Are you a Content Strategist ready to take your place in a fun, exciting and growing Digital Marketing Agency based locally on the Sunshine Coast?

Websites That Sell is looking for a Content Strategist with a proven track record of planning, strategising & overseeing the creation of blog posts & commercial web pages that support both SEO rankings & drive traffic. This job opportunity is full time, and locally based on the Sunshine Coast. 


What this role is NOT:

  • Social Media content creation/management (you won't be doing socials, we need someone that understands how website content works.)
  • Content writer (you won't be writing the actual articles.)
  • Video content creator (no videos involved at this stage.)
  • Designer (while design skills will help you stand out when styling blog posts, you're not required to design websites or graphics)
The Role: 

The role is client-facing. This means it involves regular interaction with clients over the phone, zoom and in person where appropriate in order to manage existing client relationships and produce results.

You’ll work alongside a team of writers, SEO's, designers & developers, as well as a strategic leadership team to consult and bounce ideas with. 

The team collaborates regularly to achieve results-driven outcomes for our clients across small, medium and corporate size campaigns. 

The work environment is professional in execution and set in a fun & relaxed office atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct interaction with clients; face to face, via zoom, phone & email.
  • Strategising content opportunities across a wide range of industries.
  • Creating content roadmaps, broken up into quarterly sprint plans. 
  • Identifying article types & structures to best capture search traffic at every stage of the customer journey.
  • Manage approval & feedback processes between clients & writers
  • Contribute to improve departments performance.
  • Develop strategy & present campaign proposals for new and re-engagement of client opportunities.

You must be able to: 

  • Strategise & create campaign plans for brand new accounts (both for new websites and websites with existing history based on SEO & customer needs.)
  • Lead content meetings with clients: intake calls, wireframe reviews, content strategy reviews
  • Perform market research identifying commercial & informational traffic opportunities (topic, keyword, competitor research).
  • Analyse client page rankings to determine blogs or pages to create or optimise.
  • Create wireframes, plan content for pages/posts, collect visuals for pages/posts or use existing website page templates to built new content opportunities upon.
  • Create content briefs and templates for writers
  • Manage writer queries and act as a liaison between clients and writers
  • Manage junior content staff.
  • Plan interlinking between website pages and content clusters
  • Publish SEO optimised blog posts
  • Plan site link structures
  • Create documentation, templates, and spreadsheets to maintain organisation within the department.
  • Create customer avatars

Requirements: 

  • Basic understanding of SEO.
  • Strong understanding of content mapping, site structure and page relevance around entities.
  • Strong Written & verbal communication skills to communicate ideas & outcomes.
  • Strong command of the English language; be able to compose well-written emails and have an excellent phone manner.
  • Skills to prioritise tasks, refine processes and build the department.
