Senior Youth Support Worker

This position is focused on promoting personal growth. You will be supporting school leavers in finding the job they want and supporting a team of APM Youth Support Workers thrive in their roles.

This position is flexible on location and can be based at any APM office across Sydney North & West. We have an office at Baulkham Hills, Hornsby & Ryde.

Ideally you will have previous experience working with youth and supporting them with their path to employment. You’re driven to exceed personal and professional goals, providing a valuable service and you take pride in helping others do the same. You are skilled at motivating & mentoring and can create solutions when challenges arise.

The Role

As the Senior Youth Support Worker, you will be assisting the Business Manager with additional support and manage a reduced caseload of participants.

• Provide support, motivation and guidance to a reduced caseload of participants
• Assist with internal staff training, support and motivation
• Assist with staff recruitment and other business decisions
• Oversee the Transition to Work program in accordance with standards and contractual obligations
• Coach internal staff on effective ways to meet service quality, timeframes, structure objectives
• Full time position working 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday

To be considered, you will have...

• Eligibility to work in Australia
• A current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
• Willing to complete a Criminal History Check and able to pass a Working with Children Check
• Ideally you will hold a Cert IV Youth Work, Cert IV Employment Services or Cert IV Community Services or higher or equivalent (if you don’t hold formal qualifications, you must be happy to obtain).
