Join us in shaping the future of Western Australia's public transport system!
Join our dynamic team at the Public Transport Authority (PTA) as we strive to position ourselves as a global leader in public transport services and solutions. In the thriving economy of Western Australia, our public transport system is already recognised as the best in the country—efficient, clean, and among the safest networks worldwide. As we expand to serve millions, we're seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to contribute to our success.
Opportunity for Service Designer in the Business Transformation Team
The PTA is gearing up for a major transformation in the way our people work. The ‘Business Transformation Program’ will reshape the PTA’s corporate operating model and technology, enabling us to become a truly insight driven organisation. To achieve this ambitious goal, we need people who understand and get excited about working simpler, faster and better.
About the Role
As a Service Designer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and optimising PTA's corporate operating models. Utilising your knowledge of leading practices, you will design services that best meet customer needs and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our corporate services.
In this role you will:

  • Facilitate the improvement and design of end-to-end processes, ensuring they deliver business value and align with new technology.
  • Work closely with functional areas to develop contemporary services, highlight touchpoints and interdependencies.
  • Enhance a shared understanding of customer and operational needs, collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement solutions.
  • Streamline processes while ensuring compliance and meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Support change management strategies and plans for a smooth transition to new processes and system.
  • Implement performance measures, gather stakeholder feedback to demonstrate and ensure optimal and sustainable processes.
  • Your initial focus will be on the finance operating model, followed by human resources.
This is a unique 5-year fixed-term contract, offering an immediate start and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on Western Australia's public transport landscape.
About You
You will be a people person, a great communicator and facilitator, someone able to empathise with others and understand and explore different perspectives and experiences. You will be someone that understands the big picture and how to connect dots between stakeholders.
As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to a positive work environment by utilising your strong problem solving and analytical skills, coupled with your ability to deal with uncertainty, and formulate solutions that drive change within the organisation.
The selection process aims to fill the current vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
The PTA promotes diversity and inclusion and acknowledges the positive impact this has on individual, team and organisational performance. We actively encourage people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
What We Offer:
  • Training & Development Opportunities
  • Career Pathways
  • Supportive and Dynamic Team Environment
  • Health & Wellbeing Programs, including an Onsite Gym
  • Subsidised Corporate Apparel and Spectacles
  • Key Involvement in Supporting WA's Major Projects with a Lasting Impact for Generations
Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to the positive transformation of the PTA and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of public transport in Western Australia.
