Service Manager (Immediate start)

As a Service Manager you will be an essential part of Greenleaf’s NDIS service delivery. As Service Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Greenleaf’s NDIS Support Services, predominantly across our SIL (Supported Independent Living) houses in Canberra - Goulburn Region.

Duty Statement:
Oversee and manage Greenleaf NDIS Program and Services effectively and efficiently. Ensure our services are compliant with NDIS Practice standards and quality indicators.
• Manage SIL houses in the region through Service Coordinators and House Coordinators, which includes the service delivery to participants and supervision/ guidance to staff in those houses.
• Manage and oversee the community access supports and Centre/ Community based Group Activities in the region includes supervising staff and take regular feedback from the participants and stakeholders.
- Visit our SIL houses on a regular basis and ensure the participants and staff are working in a safe, supportive, and caring environment.
- Build a positive rapport with participants, carers/ families and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an excellent relationship with other community organisations, hospitals, community mental health teams, Public Trustee and Guardian, providers & consumers forums, etc.
- Be actively involved in the multi-disciplinary team meetings, case conferences, hospital discharge planning meetings, etc.
- Oversee risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the implementation of high-quality Support/ Care/ Recovery plans and positive behaviour support plans.
- Oversee and guide Service Coordinators/ House Coordinators in developing person-centered risk assessment, Care/ Support/ Recovery plans for the participants and assisting them to work towards achieving their individual goals.
- Ensure all reporting including compliance reporting (reportable incidents, restrictive practices, etc.) done in a timely manner with Quality and Compliance Manager; work as Reportable Incidents/ Restrictive Practices Reporting Officer on behalf of Greenleaf to NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, Office of Senior Practitioner (ACT) and Department of Communities & Justice (NSW)
- Take regular feedback from the participants, families/ carers and other stakeholders and make necessary corrective actions.
- Oversee and evaluate the reports prepared by the House Coordinators and Support Workers to ensure the reports are appropriate with high standards.
- Provide guidance and support to Service Coordinators/ House Coordinators for NDIS Plan reviews (if needed) and any other complex meetings.
Requirements for Appointment:
The successful applicant must have:
- Experience in providing positive support to clients with challenging behaviour
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A valid National Police Check (issued within 3-month period)
- A certificate for NDIS Worker Orientation
- A current first aid certificate & Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- A current Australian Driver's License
- Comprehensive car insurance
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Must have minimum Diploma in Leadership/ Disability/ Mental Health/ Community Service.
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience as manager with disability services - including experience in managing NDIS services.
- Sound oral and written communication and customer service skills, where you will have past experience liaising with key stakeholders including families and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical and complex issues and challenging situations.
- Demonstrated crisis management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, share information and manage your time to an excellent standard.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to foster committed and collaborative teams.
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge in disability sector, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Social Work/ Psychology/ Counselling/ Nursing/ Management.
2. 2 years’ experience as accommodation manager for NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL) program.
3. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training Certificate.
