Waste Initiatives, a leader in the waste solutions industry, is seeking a motivated Service Manager to join our team and spearhead our service, maintenance, and breakdown operations across Australia and New Zealand.

Role Overview:

As the Service Manager at Waste Initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of over 1,600 pieces of client equipment. You will lead a team of 4 skilled service technicians and 2 dedicated office staff members, driving excellence in service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all service, maintenance, and breakdown activities for waste management equipment across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Collaborate with the service technicians to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring timely response to client needs.
  • Lead and mentor the service team, fostering skill development and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Oversee the dispatch and allocation of service techs, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing downtime.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their equipment operates at peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the office staff to manage administrative tasks, including work orders, documentation, and communication with clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance service processes, improve efficiency, and streamline operations.
  • Monitor and report on service performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing service and maintenance operations, preferably in the waste management or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of technicians and office staff.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail to ensure efficient scheduling and execution of service tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Technical aptitude and an understanding of waste management equipment is advantageous.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required within Australia and New Zealand.
