Seamech are on the lookout for ambitious Auto-Electrician or Dual-trade diesel technician with a drive for success and the commercial aptitude to develop business to transition off the tools and begin a successful career pathway within our business.
In this newly created position, you will be a pivotal player in supporting the Service Market which is a arm of Seamech, from a technical perspective and also developing and implementing power solutions of the future, with the roll out of electro-mobility technologies as they are established in this market.
The role:
- Support the Service Market team and our all-important Dealer Network, assisting with and overseeing technical support cases.
- Use your qualifications to take the lead on electromobility projects, including marine hybrid propulsion installations, power generation, battery storage systems, and industrial electric drivelines.
- Install, maintain and diagnose 12/24v control systems on existing and future drivelines.
- Assist our sales team with application support and product installation.
- Be a brand ambassador for Volvo Penta, ensuring customer success outcomes from a technical standpoint.
- Visit the dealer network and provide high-technical support and training to technicians.
- Support our local OEM, key accounts and equipment manufacturers with installations, commissioning and testing (On land and at sea)
- Carry out emergency repairs.
- Deliver excellent customer service and provide positive outcomes.
- Attend trade shows where required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience with trade qualification in Auto Electrical / Diesel / Heavy or Light Vehicle, technical field Electrical / Electronics and/or Diesel (or relevant)
- Trade Experience in Industrial, Marine and Power Generation applications.
- Experience with brands such as Volvo Penta, Caterpillar, Cummins, MAN, Scania (desirable)
- Exposure to a similar role or relevant position - either in Electrical or Electronics Technician, Technical Support, Technical / Tradesperson development.
- Good understanding of 12/24V electrical, along with High-Voltage EV and Hybrid powertrain systems (willing to undertake high voltage training)
- Exposure to diesel power generation and water pumping equipment and control systems highly regarded but not essential.
