The company:
Our client is a global service provider with a dedicated team who work to service customers across a broad range of industry sectors including mining, resources and construction. Due to recent growth, they are currently looking to appoint a talented Service Operations Manager to be based in their Rockhampton offices. This role has a strong continuous improvement and quality management focus and a key role moving forward for the business.
The role:
This is a key role to drive Service Operations, continuous improvement and quality management activities across the group. Responsibilities will include:
- Assess and manage the support of all repairs and inspection sign off's across centres
- Accurately ensure company and supplier components are tested and inspected and that technical documentation and manuals required are completed in accordance with customer specifications.
- Serve as a liaison across the business to investigate and resolve quality issues and facilitate the proper workflow of information.
- Ensure customer requirements are interpreted and communicated to the team and delivered within the appropriate timeframe, cost and standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in the Parts and Service Operations business model and execute more streamlined and efficient business processes and practices.
- Lead continuous improvement projects across the three service departments, within designated time frames, using either Lean Six Sigma or other appropriate improvement methodology.
- Drive initiatives to optimise, automate or digitise work across Service Operations
- Collaborate with Parts and Service Managers on concept developments, project planning, task allocation and management of integrated projects.
- Proactively steer and champion improvement and change across Operations, influencing senior and executive stakeholders to elicit support and sponsorship for change programs and projects.
About You:
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of steel materials and steel fabrication and repair
- Sound knowledge of the Boilermaking, Welding Standards and NDE processes
- Sound project management experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence across a variety of stakeholders at the senior level
- Strong commercial acumen and business skills
