Eureka Canopies is a family owned business specializing in the sale, customization and installation of ute canopies and trays for both trade and recreational purposes.
We are expanding our team and seeking the a skilled worker to join us.
The role DOES REQUIRE SOME LIFTING so you must be physically able for this position.
Position Overview:
In this role you will be responsible for various tasks including canopy installations, ute tray conversions (which require 12v wiring diagnosis and adaptation), accessory/parts installations along with pre delivery inspections.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and possess a solid competency in 12v electrical systems. While relevant industry experience is advantageous, it is not essential.
Typical Working Scenario:
A customer has taken delivery of a brand new ute from the dealer and has come to us to have a “Tray & Canopy” package installed on it.
You would be required to disconnect all the rear lights, sensors and reversing cameras from the vehicle in order to make way for the new tray to be installed.
You along with other team members would then install the tray which INCLUDES its own LED light cluster.
Once installation is complete, you must be capable of adapting the factory wiring harness to make the new trays LED cluster function correctly.
In addition you may need to extend some of the wiring harness to relocate and fit brackets in order to remount any sensors and cameras.
This entire process can require some fault finding, process of elimination and reading of wiring diagrams.
You MUST be confident in your ability to complete the above scenario without assistance.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Background (or solid ability) in electronics, or auto electrics IS REQUIRED (as outlined above).
- Intuitive ability for electronic fault finding without the use of internal schematic diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and address issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
- Must be reliable and demonstrate a high level of punctuality.
- An aptitude to quickly comprehend, learn and communicate clearly to effectively collaborate with others in the team.
- Ability to maintain a clean and well-arranged workstation
Other Requirements
- Physically fit as the role does on occasion require manual handling and lifting.
- Must have a full driver’s license
- Must be fluent in English
- Ability to use standard power tools
- Fork lift license (not required but advantageous)
Working Hours:
- This will be a permanent full time position.
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
- Saturday work is also available
- Location on Settlement Road Thomastown which operates as a retail showroom and workshop
Pay Rate :
- Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications.
- This will be a permanent full time position.
