About the Role
This is a rewarding role with a purpose where you will lead the charge in building a vibrant and connected community through arts, culture, library, and Events for North Sydney Council.
This pivotal position is dedicated to spearheading the development and execution of strategic plans, overseeing operations for arts and culture, libraries, community centres, and event venues.
This is your chance to lead with innovation, leaving an indelible mark on the community's cultural landscape.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a central role in enriching the cultural fabric of the community by contributing to the planning of compelling cultural programs, exhibitions, performances, and engaging events.
  • As a forward-thinking leader, you will contribute towards aligning the Service Unit with council objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Drawing on your leadership experience, you will mentor and inspire your team, fostering a culture of learning and championing continuous development
  • Strategic resource management, business plan development, and performance reporting will be key aspects of optimising service delivery
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and key agencies will extend to leading comprehensive event management plans, ensuring flawless execution, and creating memorable experiences for North Sydney Council constituents, their guests and visitors
  • Develop and implement effective internal communication strategies to align organisational messaging with strategic objectives and engage stakeholders
  • Produce high-quality reports and recommendations for the Executive Leadership Team and Council
To be successful;
You are a creative trailblazer and out of the box thinker. You will also have:
  • A bachelors degree in event management, business administration, marketing or a related field OR significant experience within a leadership role in a related field
  • Strong experience in the arts and culture industry including event planning and management of large and small scale events
  • Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to develop high-performing and agile teams
  • Demonstrated experience in managing resources effectively including financial and workforce
  • The ability to think outside the box, problem solve and have strong decision-making skills to address issues in a timely manner
