Our client Hornsby Council, have the requirement for a Services Technical Officer - Building Management, To be part of the Building Management Services team ensuring that Council's approved projects and capital works for Public Buildings, Residential and Commercial properties, Aquatic Centres and Multi Sports Stadium are completed in an effective and efficient manner.

 Scope:

The Building Management Services Capital Works Officer has three major functions:

  • To implement the approved Capital Works programs for Council's buildings in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To implement asset maintenance works programs that support the work of the Branch in accordance with the agreed levels of service for Council's Public Buildings and Aquatic Centres.
  • To implement Capital Works Projects programs that supports the work of the Branch in accordance with the agreed levels of service for Council's Public Buildings and Aquatic Centres.

To be successful for this position, you will have the following:

  • TAFE Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated high level experience in the supervision of trades day labour staff and contractors
  • Demonstrated high level skills in prioritising, organising and coordinating activities
    Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in building maintenance and construction
    Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards for electrical tagging
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards for fire protection
  • Demonstrated medium level knowledge and experience of Building Code of Australia
  • Demonstrated medium level interpersonal and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated basic level computer literacy skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated basic level skills in financial management
