About the opportunityThe Shared Service Centre Maintenance Service Request Consultant will provide strong customer service, transactional support and advice in response to enquiries from a variety of functions within the University of Sydney. These functions will include (but not be limited to):
  • Logging Maintenance Service requests, and escalating to 2nd level where required
  • Coordinating external vendors (eg, tradespeople) to attend on-site to address reported issues
  • Providing customer updates on MS request progress and responding to customer questions
The SSC MSR Consultant will handle a large variety of live and deferred interactions across multiple channels – including telephone, email, face-to-face and through the self-service portal. The consultant will provide responses and advice to staff and students and will document the issue, and progress updates in University’s systems. Enquires are to be handled in a professional, accurate and customer-focused manner, and within agreed service timeframes.The additional responsibilities of the position are the coordination of external vendors to appear on-site to fix reported issues via phone and email.About you
  • demonstrated high level computer literacy skills and knowledge, with specific proficiency in Microsoft Office, email and web browsers
  • experience in supporting clients through a variety of different channels and handling their issues until resolution
  • experience in understanding and interpreting organisational policies and procedures
  • excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and oral), a well-developed telephone manner, and experience taking calls
  • experience using the ServiceNow (or similar) incident logging system.
