A key government department is looking for a suitably skilled and experienced IT Service Management Officer to join its Data and Services Delivery Governance Branch within the Information Management and Technology Division. In this role, you will support the Director of the Client Support Section by managing day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and transforming services to enhance the end-user experience.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and govern the department's outsourced IT Service Management (ITSM) service delivery.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships and guide the team through periods of change and transformation.
- Ensure operational governance and oversight on IT Service Management delivery outcomes.
- Solve complex problems and manage issues efficiently.
- Provide strong leadership and work independently to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders across multiple departments to meet business and departmental requirements.
- Security Clearance: Must hold a minimum NV1 security clearance.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT Service Management with a robust understanding of the ITIL Service Lifecycle, practices, and procedures.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and independence.
- Effective relationship management across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience in a complex global ICT environment with hybrid and geographically dispersed teams.
- Ability to manage multiple and complex issues with competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience engaging and managing multiple ICT vendors in an outsourced ITSM environment.
- Skills in supporting ITSM toolset rollouts, focusing on requirements gathering, process optimization, and user support and training.
- Qualifications or accreditation in IT Service Management, project management, and quality management systems (e.g., ITIL 4, ISO/IEC 20000, COBIT).
Preference for on-site work at the office location in Canberra, with flexible arrangements considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g., 4 days in office + 1 day from home). Remote or interstate candidates will not be considered.
