All Breeze Security Doors & Windows Pty Ltd is a business focused on enhancing the security and aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial properties through the supply and installation of aluminium doors and windows.
They are now looking to hire a motivated individual to join their successful team as a Sheetmetal Worker in Chipping Norton.
The Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating and installing aluminium products, with a strong focus on precision and quality. You will play a key role in producing and fitting custom doors and windows, ensuring they meet our high standards and customer specifications.
The annual salary is set at $80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Some tasks may include
- Review detailed blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the job requirements, including the materials needed and the equipment to be used.
- Choose appropriate types of metal stock, such as stainless steel, galvanized iron, mild steel, aluminium, and copper, ensuring the sizes, gauges, and dimensions match the project specifications.
- Accurately mark out reference points and lines on metal stock using templates, gauges, and other measuring instruments to guide the cutting and shaping processes.
- Utilise hand and power tools like shears, guillotines, and drills to cut metal stock along marked guidelines.
- Employ folding and bending machines, rollers, presses, and hammers to shape and form the cut metal stock into the desired products.
- Assemble components into final products through welding, riveting, soldering, brazing, and other joining methods.
- Perform finishing touches on products by polishing, filing, sanding, and cleaning assembled products to meet quality standards.
- May include duties to repair damaged sheetmetal products and components, restoring them to their original condition.
- Some may specialize in the fabrication of specific sheetmetal products, focusing on precise manufacturing techniques.
- Specialize in the on-site assembly and installation of sheetmetal products, ensuring they fit and function as intended in their final location.
- Some may focus on crafting decorative copper items, requiring a blend of artistic skills and sheetmetal working techniques.
- Utilise CAD software to create or modify designs and layouts for sheetmetal products, improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Responsible for the routine maintenance and proper operation of sheetmetal fabrication tools and equipment to ensure safety and productivity.
The Requirements:
- AQF Certificate III or similar qualification in the relevant field of metal manufacturing and cutting
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial workshop setting
- At least 3 years of experience in operating machinery used in sheetmetal fabrication, such as shears, press brakes, folding machines, and guillotines.
- Must have at least 3 years' experience with oxy, electric and MIG welding techniques
- Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to accurately fabricate and assemble sheetmetal products.
- Understanding of the properties and characteristics of various metals and materials used in sheetmetal work, including stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and galvanized iron.
- Ability to apply finishing touches, such as polishing, sanding, and cleaning, to ensure the product meets quality and aesthetic standards.
- Experience in troubleshooting and solving issues that arise during the fabrication process, from design discrepancies to machine malfunctions.
- Experience in inspecting and ensuring the quality of sheetmetal products, applying knowledge of industry standards and specifications.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
