Exciting opportunity for a Shift Manager – Pack Area to lead and develop a supply shift production team of operators. This role will see you responsible for developing and managing both people & production on rotating shifts at our Mars Petcare site in Bathurst, NSW just two and a half hours from Sydney.
As the Shift Manager – Pack Area, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. You will actively engage in defining, implementing, improving and standardising how our Production Operators conduct themselves. We are open to first time line managers for this role.

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Lead, develop & mentor direct reports to achieve and exceed production targets whilst maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Meeting production demands and working in a dynamic environment to minimise any delays.
- Communicating in with the leaders regarding production time, budget expectations, materials, delays or concerns, shift management.
- Prioritising and managing tasks within the designated area to ensure the plant starts on time and learning curves are being met.
- Developing and implementing continuous improvement activities that address safety, quality and efficiency.
- Planning, directing and coordinating team members during dry & wet commissioning and product/process validation, to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards.
- Develop plans & production schedules, allocating labor/capital resources.
- Liaising with the Reliability, Safety, Quality, Supply, R&D, Project & Site Engineering & Logistics teams
Knowledge & Experience:
- No specific previous knowledge, experience or people management required.
- Continuous improvement mindset, growth mindset & behaviours with a passion for leadership demonstrated.
