NOTE: The core days for this position are Monday – Friday. The incumbent will be rostered on a 5 week cycle involving weekend work. (Penalty rates apply for Saturday & Sunday)
The position sits within the Compliance and Parking Branch which provides a high level of customer service within the municipality, balancing the community needs and safety as a priority. The role specifically sits within Local Laws and these are designed to provide services that protect and enhance the safety, health and amenity of the municipality and its residents and visitors. You will be required to:
- Successful completion of a Certificate IV in Municipal Law Enforcement, Diploma in Justice or equivalent and / or experience in the relevant field of law enforcement.
- To undertake investigations, resolve requests, and where necessary take appropriate enforcement action to obtain compliance with the Local Laws, Environmental Protection Act 2017 and other relevant legislation within the municipality.
- To respond to enquiries, complaints, and general correspondence from internal and external stakeholders within Council timelines and standards.
- Have a proven ability to conduct investigations, instigate appropriate enforcement action, conduct interviews of those involved and prepare briefs of evidence.
- Be rostered on a 5 week cycle involving weekend and out of hours work. This will be required by the Officer and remuneration will be paid at the Award rates.
You will also be required to build and maintain a professional working relationship with all stakeholders and exhibit, respect, teamwork and innovation to improve productivity and efficiency whilst maintaining agreed standards in carrying out duties.
