THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for someone who is experienced in shopper or trade marketing with an ability to toggle between marketing strategy and retailer execution. Well versed in building relationships with buyers and sales managers alike, you’re in your element when garnering stakeholder support and influencing the leadership team to deliver your vision.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Shopper Activation Manager reporting into the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for shaping and leading the new function within the Revlon Marketing Team. This role is responsible for bringing to life brand, category, and shopper plans in all channels of trade.

With the support of one direct report, this role requires complete end-to-end accountability from developing and activating major initiatives with the relevant customer groups, such as new product launches, retailer occasions and innovative in-store activations to generate cut-through in a cluttered marketplace. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing Activation Planning & Execution: Develop and implement annual retailer shopper strategies and activation plans, collaborating with sales, brand teams, external retailer marketing teams, and agencies.
  • Category Growth Opportunities: Create and execute category growth initiatives based on key retailer events and occasions.
  • Retail Execution Support: Assist and guide the brand team in retail execution for new product launches and activation.
  • Retailer & Beauty Advisor Engagement: Lead commercial planning and activation execution for key retailers, partnering with the Category Manager.
  • Mass Training Strategy: Develop customer-specific mass training strategies in collaboration with the National Education Manager.
  • Cycle Planning Oversight: Oversee cycle planning and activation updates with the support of the Marketing Coordinator.
  • Activation Implementation: Act as a key link between category/sales, brand team, and retailer marketing contacts, managing BTL agency and in-store events across channels.
  • Analyzing & Reporting: Manage brand support funds, track and reconcile monthly expenses, share insights on competitor activities, and provide updates in key meetings.
  • Project Management: Drive various projects and processes, including wall updates, planogram updates, grocery pre-packs, and retailer taskforce actions, guiding the Marketing Coordinator.

ABOUT YOU

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • +5 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in FMCG/ Personal care 
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Marketing/Business Management
  • Excellent implementation skills: planning, organising, prioritising and executing 
  • Advanced knowledge of customer marketing activation preferably from an FMCG or Beauty company.
  • Strong ability to translate and tailor communication of commercial opportunities for different audiences to achieve outcomes e.g. retailer, gate and BDMs
  • Proven accomplishments in innovative trade activation across all channels
  • Entrepreneurial; able to identify, seize and exploit commercial opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing landscape
  • Good numerical, analytical and interpretative skills
