Our Opportunity Shotfirer – Drill and Blast Operator Work location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples. Roster: 8D6R - FIFO Ex Perth, Busselton or Karratha We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Shotfirers, responsible for ensuring Drill and Blast activities are conducted in a safe and cost-efficient manner. Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, these positions will also be required to provide sufficient quantity and quality of blasted stock for mining or processing. Key Responsibilities Perform all duties as directed by the Drill & Blast Supervisory Team to meet daily operational targets Operating machinery in a safe and efficient manner Ensuring all associated equipment is maintained in a safe condition Ensuring Drill & Blast patterns are kept to a high standard Using techniques and procedures that improve performance and cost efficiencies Qualifications and Experience WA Manual Driver's Licence Dangerous Goods Security Clearance Current WA Shotfirer's Licence Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable) Communication/ interpersonal skills - two-way operation Knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection and OHS Act/Regulations Basic computer and time management skills Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
