About the Role:
Join us as a SideLoader Driver/Operator at Ivanhoe Council! Your primary role is to ensure efficient waste collection services within our municipality.
Responsibilities:
- Collect household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial waste, parks waste, and bundle branch collection.
- Clear garbage/recycling/organics from mobile garbage bins put out for emptying by residents.
- Reduce the impact of collection activities on the environment by recovering spilled waste and containing oil or fuel spills.
- Assist with Mobile Garbage Bin repairs when required.
- Carry out regular routine maintenance on the truck.
- Assist with any task undertaken by the Waste Management unit as directed by Supervisor.
- Adhere to all safe working procedures and Council's OH&S and risk policies.
- Take reasonable care of themselves and others affected by their actions.
- Assist council in maintaining and improving its services by performing all work in accordance with procedures.
- Perform tasks as required by the Waste Management unit.
Skills Required:
- Experience operating Side Loader waste collection vehicles.
- Experience in household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial parks waste, dump rubbish, and hard waste collection.
- Must be able to obtain an updated Police Check.
