Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Signalling Electrical Construction Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key accountabilities:
Execute assignments in the office or the field in signal engineering work and associated railway construction activities.
Carry out signalling circuit design, preparation of control tables, cost estimates and specifications.
Conduct validation checking of safety critical signalling designs as directed and check the work of technical staff assigned to the same project in the office or the field
Work under supervision. Duties are generally assigned orally as to methods and procedures to be followed.
Comply with all Heath Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements and initiatives. Support the Senior Signalling/Electrical Engineer and the wider construction team in the execution of the ETCS L2 project.
Education and experience:
Degree in signalling and/or electrical engineering or equivalent engineering qualification which is acceptable for corporate membership of engineers Australia.
5 + years in signalling and/or electrical engineering in a rail environment
Demonstrated competency in implementing health & safety initiatives.
Outstanding planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience working within a brownfield railway signalling environment.
Knowledge of software tools and technical systems.
