Do you love working outdoors? We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Softwoods Silviculture & Fire team in Urbenville as the Field Assistantwhere you will contribute to forest operations for the area.

About the role:
The purpose of this position is to assist with the operational aspects of the function including routine plantation maintenance activities, pest and weed control, plant operation and contractor guidance.
This role is physically demanding and will also require the employee to undertake firefighting activities.
We would love you to have:
- Robust communication skills to communicate effectively with co-workers, contractors and external stakeholders as required.
- Experienced in working safely in a high-risk environment.
- Proven organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines
- Knowledge and understanding of forestry management and protection, or similar, including weed and pest control, fire fighting, and silviculture
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team yet with a high level of independence.
- Preferably qualified and skilled in competent and efficient operation of plant (particularly tanker, forklift, truck) and equipment (particularly chainsaw).
