The Project

The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Project.

The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes 2km of new freeway upgrade, 3km of new freeway, separation of local roads from the freeway, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

Key accountabilities for the position:

• As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
  
• Maintain documentation and systems for quality, safety, environmental
  
• Some exposure to maintaining planning/programming to assist Project managers with 4-6 week look ahead's
  
• Able to read/interpret design plans & drawings
  
• Participate in client/contractor meetings where required
  
• Financial assisting of cost tracking/invoicing of subcontractors on different packages of work
  
• Report to senior project engineers but gain leadership exposure with grads/cadets
  
• Foster collaborative and effective relationships with a range of internal/external stakeholders
  
• Structures focus but you may also be involved with civil, earthworks, pavements & drainage packages
  

Skills & Experinece Required

• You will have a tertiary education in civil/structural engineering, construction or similar
  
• Ideally you will have a solid foundation of site-based experience working on large bridge projects or similar
  
• Technical knowledge around design, plan, and construction methods for bridges
  
• Well-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
