The South East Queensland (SEQ) Schools Project is a key initiative of the Department of Education to provide public education facilities in the rapidly growing South East Queensland corridor. Within this project, seven new schools were delivered through Aspire Schools, under Queensland's Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework. Ventia delivers management, hard and soft maintenance services to all seven schools.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Director, the Site Facilities Manager will optimise operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for Teachers, Students, and visitors. Passionate about implementing cost-effective strategies, fostering team collaboration, and enhancing the overall functionality of the managed facilities to support contract goals and service delivery.
- Primary Responsibilities include:
- Proactively managing subcontractors, including reviewing, and assessing subcontractor suitability and working with them to ensure they meet Ventia Quality and Safety Criteria and offer value for money.
- Managing all works in line with contractual requirements to achieve required KPIs and associated reporting.
- Undertaking quality and compliance audits as per contract needs.
- Supporting the development of, implementing, and monitoring all required maintenance plans for routine works
- Managing effective communication, negotiation and conflict resolution with subcontractors, clients and onsite staff
- Managing relevant site safety and compliance inductions and delivering facilities management services across the nominated sites
- Ensure the highest standards of professional conduct, transparency, accountability, and trust are delivered through this contract.
- Guaranteeing 100% commitment to protecting sensitive information and ensuring all services adhere to security, compliance, legislative requirements.
- Remain available through an on-call roster as required.
About You
- Blue Card - Working with Children
- Maintenance engineering, facilities management, asset maintenance
- Working knowledge of WH&S and Facilities Management systems
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated written communication and IT skills.
- An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
