A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their growing business in Newcastle NSW. They work across refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition, upgrades, HVAC etc. on buildings and civil works as well. Will be running projects from smaller up to $10m+. Projects are generally Industrial, Defence or Commercial in nature, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage. Experience with Paint and Blast projects is essential. Other remedial experience is also ideal. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions with all onsite staff / subcontractors Complete daily site diary entries Review and manage key project issues Liaise with statutory bodies ensuring all relevant notifications are made Ensure site compound and amenities are established and maintained Organise all site inspections with clients, authorities and consultants Assist Project Manager with preparing scopes of work Understand head and subcontractor contracts, especially in relation to timeframes Produce and manage defect lists for subcontractors prior to finishing works Qualifications and Requirements: Trade or Building related Qualification Minimum 4 years’ experience in site supervision of construction projects including planning, programming and management of onsite staff / subcontractors. Proven experience on Paint & Blast projects and/or remedial type projects Construction Safety Induction (White) card Senior First Aid Certificate Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety is desirable Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
