ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Site Supervisor to join our small team based at various project sites on the Sunshine Coast. This is a full-time position with an August 2024 start. Salary package is negotiable based on experience.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the efficient running of a building site. The role is responsible for setting out, managing and co-ordinating employees and subcontractors to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with contract drawings/specifications, construction program, cost budgets and within workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role has a number of key responsibilities during the Pre-Construction, Construction and Completion phases of a project. Some of these responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Manage all operations on site including the allocation and management of materials, plant and equipment.
- Oversee all matters related to Workplace Health, Safety and Environment on site.
- Maintain and utilise Gold Leaf Constructions software used (Procore).
- Ensure project costs are maintained and followed, notify of any variances.
- Check documents are current and obtain drawings, specification, drawings register and council approved drawings.
- Establish site management plan with the Construction Manager and make relevant arrangements.
- Review and understand the construction program.
- Direction, delegation of tasks and co-ordination of carpenters and labourers and managing their hours and overtime worked on site.
- Co-ordinate surveyors and trades for set-out of the works and check all dimensions prior to construction.
- Co-ordinate all final authority inspections.
- Ensure prompt completion of any defect items requested by the client.
COMPETENCIES, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
- Previous experience as a Site Supervisor.
- Recognised relevant trade qualification.
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills with ability to manage priorities.
- QBCC Site Supervisor licence (or ability to obtain).
- General construction induction card (white card).
- Current first aid training (or ability to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of construction and design principles, Health, Safety, Environmental requirements and demonstrated experience.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand site documentation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, engaging with key stakeholders at all levels including employees, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients and external parties.
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Strong work ethic with ability to develop and implement innovative solutions and exercise initiative.
- Ability to work autonomously and be a positive “team player”.
