Site Supervisor / Safety Officer
City to Country Coatings is a business that specialises in refurbishing grain storages across Western Australia by carrying out high volume water washing, high pressure water blasting, roof cladding replacement, polyurethane application, and the application of protective paint coatings. In a niche industry, we value high quality work and efficiency while providing on the job training and support.
We are seeking a Site Supervisor / Safety Officer who will oversee the day-to-day operations of our construction site. The Site Supervisor / Safety Officer will undertake the tasks outlined in this position description at a level of complexity that requires limited guidance and supervision and requires a high level of judgement and responsibility. The Site Supervisor / Safety Officer will coordinate with the Project Manager, other staff members, and the sub-contractors to deliver successful projects and limit risk.
This role is specific to a 6 month project that is based in Northampton, which is a rural town located 5 hours North of Perth. Opportunity to continue with other contracts will be offered to candidates that are successful in this role.
Site Supervisor / Safety Officer Role and Responsibilities
- Act as a site representative for the company.
- Attend Site meetings as required.
- Carry out site hazard inspections, conduct toolbox meetings, conduct JSA’s.
- Coordinate and schedule labour, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to project managers.
- Manage and maintain construction site documentation, including daily logs, safety reports, and progress reports.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction and escalate issues to project managers when necessary.
- Train and mentor inexperienced staff members and provide performance feedback as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project plans and budgets.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following guidelines, standards, and procedures.
Hours and Benefits
- 11–12-hour days on an 8:6 Roster
- Accommodation provided with LAFH allowance $50 per day.
- Hourly rate $55 per hour
- Travel time between Perth and Northampton is included in wages
Skills and Experience Requirements
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential for this role
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Great time management and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritise tasks
- Proficient in using computer software for project management and reporting
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others
- A valid WA Driver’s License
- White card
- Provide first aid*
- Working at heights*
- Operating EWP Boom Lift over 11m license*
- Forklift License*
