NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut, and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.
The role is residential/DIDO based in Charters Towers working an 8/6 roster.
About the role:
- Use the site standards to deliver operator training and assessment to ensure that personnel while operating equipment are both competent and ticketed.
- Conduct and maintain Training Needs Analysis, and maintain relevant departmental and individual Training Plans based on legislative and business requirements.
- Ensure the underground training matrix is kept up to date with current training records.
- Ensure training competencies are updated in the Safety Database or other preferred company database.
- Ensure training packages are updated with changes to legislation or company standards.
- Ensure training files are filed away in accordance with the Privacy Act.
- Actively promote the site safety and training procedures and processes, including intervention when a breach is occurring.
- Verify that required records are maintained and quality of records is consistent with the requirements of site standards.
- Participate in review, evaluation, and audit processes as required
- Develop an annual site training plan in consultation with all stakeholders.
- Routinely review relevant Action Plans and verify appropriate corrective and preventive actions are planned and followed through to completion.
- Provide advice to departments on safety & training regulations, breaches, and initiatives.
- Assist with incident investigations.
- Ensure there is sufficient working equipment to operate the department.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- QMS 1,2,3
- Self-starter and able to motivate crew trainers and safety representatives as well as others within the organisation
- National Competencies in First Aid, Confined Space, and Working at Heights
- Demonstrated experience training National Accredited courses
- At least 2 years experience in a Training role within the resources sector - underground
- A good understanding of the Queensland Mining legislation and how to apply it to safety training and risk management
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
